Sometimes I wonder whether
the clock goes 'round
because its told to
or
because it wants to.

Sometimes I wonder whether
the seasons spin
because they have to
or
because they need to.

Sometimes I wonder whether
the others cry for mother
because they learn to
or
because they must.

Sometimes I wonder whether
birds fly and the rats crawl
because they're built to
or
because they like it.

Sometimes I wander hither
lying where the earth spins
or where
flocks of rowdy businessmen
fly
And I wonder...
And I wonder why we're here.

Yet here I am,
trapped where two wrongs make a right
Or is it the other way ‘round?
